Joining the Werewolves of London

The Werewolves of London Special Ice hockey club is a friendly not-for-profit club run by volunteers out of the Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre in South London.

What is Special Ice Hockey?

Unlike mainstream and Junior league hockey, Special Hockey caters for children and adults of differing ages and abilities who have developmental disabilities. Special hockey is non-contact, non-competitive and focuses on having fun while improving health and well-being.

Who can benefit from joining the club?

Players train regularly but can also take part in friendly tournaments overseas

  • Increased self confidence and self-esteem

The training sessions are run by coaches who by are all trained and registered with the EIHA (English Ice Hockey Association), the Governing Body of the sport in England and Wales. The drills are designed to help players of different abilities to reach their goals. Training sessions are held on Saturdays. Some of our players opt to participate in the annual Special Hockey International tournament which brings together teams from North America and Europe. In addition we may also schedule matches against other special hockey teams in the UK or Europe.

When are the sessions?

There are approximately 18-20 training sessions per season which are held mostly on alternate Saturday afternoons between 16:30-18:30. The season runs from September to May with a break for summer. Check the training dates  page for details.

What does it cost?

The clubs reviews fees annually and tries to keep the cost as low as possible.

Our Annual Club Fees go towards the clubs running costs and expenses including support for tournament participation.
The EIHA player registration fee is paid directly to the EIHA and not via the club.
